CAFOD Family Fast Day Friday 23 February 2024

This Lent, your donations to CAFOD’s Family Fast Day appeal will help hardworking people like James, the fisherman, in Liberia with resources, tools and training to feed their families for good. Do join us in praying with James that our sisters and brothers around the world have what they need to feed their families and live safely.

Stations of the Cross

IHM – 11.30 am Stations of the Cross followed by a Lenten Lunch at 12.30 pm on all the Fridays in Lent up to and including March 22nd St Columba’s – beginning on Wednesday February 21st Stations of the Cross will commence at 7.00 pm and this week be led by the UCM and continue throughout Lent until 20th March.

Lenten Lunch

Will be held in Damien Hall at IHM at 12:30pm on Fridays after the Stations of the Cross and the Charity we are supporting is St Joseph’s Catholic School Wiawso, Ghana. Please let us know if you and your friends can join us as the cooks will need to know the numbers and any dietary requirements.

Mission Appeal

The annual Mission Appeal by a religious order in our Diocese of Northampton is being conducted this year by the Holy Ghost Missionaries also known as The Spiritans. Fr Jean Pascal Diame, CSSP, will speak at all Masses at IHM and St Columba’s next weekend, February 24th/25th.

There will be a second collection after each Mass to support the work of the Spiritans throughout the world.

World Day of Prayer 2024

The World Day of Prayer services in Chesham will be held on March 1st at 2.30 pm and on Saturday 2 March at 10.30 am at Hope Church, Upper Belmont Road Chesham HP5 2DB. The ecumenical service prepared by the Christian Women of Palestine. On Friday March 1st we are also invited to join with the churches of Great Missenden and surrounding churches for a Service at 11.00 am at Great Missenden Baptist Church. All welcome.

Holy Thursday: 28 March 2024

The Chrism Mass at the Cathedral will begin at 11.00 am and all are welcome to attend. We will hire a coach if there are sufficient numbers If you would like to join us, please add your name to the list in the Narthex.
